As you all know, we are currently un-insured and we have no resources for being insured anytime soon. This coming week alone, I have two doctors appointments that are over $400 that we have to pay out of pocket. We simply are shaking our head at what to do, as we truly don't have an answer and the finances to do this.

My hairdress Sarah Stein has come up with some ideas. First...Anyone that comes into Sheer Bliss Salon in the month of July and mentions GABBEE will have a percentage of their bill donated back to our family.

I didn't think it would come to this...but here we are, and I don't know what else to do. Im in tears as I write this, because I simply can't believe that this is happening to me. I feel sad to see happiness in others knowing that this is something that is real for me and not for some. Through this whole process I have never been angry until now.
I really appreciate if you can spread this blog around so I can get the word out to as many people as I can.

  1. How about an account set up for medical expenses that people can donate to when they can? God bless the people that are donating their services! I would love to help, but I think some of us need to have the choice of donating directly. I hate to use the word 'inconvenient' (for obvious reasons)but some people may not be able to utilize the services that are being offered. Please let me know.

  2. Oops, I see the info I was talking about! Lots of prayers for less stress and a healthy, long and happy life!

  3. Hi Gabby,
My BFF is Sarah Stein. She has passed your story along and I wanted to introduce myself. My husband is in his 18th month of remission from esophogeal cancer. Although he DID have insurance, it was a individual plan and not very good coverage. Before the cancer we lived comfortably and after all the bills forced us into bankruptcy. So my heart goes to you and your family on many levels. I too am a Scentsy consultant and have created a fundraiser party on my web page for you. I will donate 100% of my commission to you from whatever I can obtain, I already have a couple of small orders. Good luck in your fight, stay strong!

  4. Hey Sweets, many years ago Jen Pletka (and family) did a big garage sale and accepted donations of peoples stuff (to raise money for Will's treatments). There were piles and piles and piles of things to purchase as so many people donated their stuff. I think they did well as far as amounts made in that one HUGE garage sale. I do think they stored peoples donations for at least a week or two before hand. And advertised all over the place (but this was before facebook which would make it so much easier). Everyone has clothes that no longer fit, baby items they are storing and don't need...on and on...One idea :) Loveyou sweet gal and praying for you! (I"m sure Jen could give you more details on how it worked.)

  5. Gabbee I hope all is well And you can get some help ! (:

  6. Gabbee,
I have set up an online party for you with my Thirty One Gifts. People may select your party and proceeds will go to you when I close the party. Please let me know if you have any questions. You and your family are in my prayers.
